Buckle up, because hitting the road with your little road warriors is practically an adventure movie waiting to happen!

Turn that backseat into the coolest playground ever! Why not start up a game of "I Spy," bingo or scavenger hunts? Make bingo cards before you set off with things you are likely to see along the journey and have a prize on hand for anyone who gets a full house. You can always make your own bingo cards but if you are after a quick fix, you can grab a booklet full of them online.

Picture the car as a stage for tales that rival the best bedtime stories and dive into a storytelling session where everyone becomes part of the epic tale.  If you aren’t in the creative mood, cue up some podcasts that'll have the whole family on the edge of their seats! And of course, no road trip is complete without a snack attack – load up on your little ones’ favorite munchies and host an in-car picnic party.  You can grab some back-of-the-seat storage solutions for you to keep all the goodies and entertainment for your little ones together and tidy.

Car journeys with kids can actually be an enjoyable ride!

As the wheels roll, hit play on a playlist of their all-time faves and transform the car into a rolling karaoke palace. Crank up the volume and let the whole family belt out tunes like rockstars! Keep creative juices flowing with colouring books, activity pads, and crayons – the backseat is now an art studio on wheels.

I’ve never been able to watch things in the car without feeling unwell but I understand that there are a lot of people out there who don’t have that problem.  If your kids are able to use screens in the car (and you are happy for them to do so) then fire up Amazon Kids for games, shows, or movies that'll keep those little eyes sparkling.   It’s the only digital subscription for kids with thousands of books, games, videos, Alexa Skills and more. It’s Designed for kids aged 3-12 years old to safely learn, grow and explore. The subscription features exclusive original content and brands like Disney, Marvel and Lego. The best part is that all of the content is ad-free, is not connected to social media platforms and you can control the experience through an easy-to-use parent dashboard.

Break up the trip with pit stops for bathroom breaks, leg stretches and mini-adventures! And don't forget to bring along their trusty blankies, pillows, and snuggly toys for that extra cozy touch.

Now, let's turn that car into a rolling play zone! Portable games, magnetic puzzles, and tiny toys – it's entertainment in pint-sized form. My family always enjoyed a good game of UNOConnect Four or Magnetic Chess.  If you are on a particularly long journey, you could always surprise your kids part way through the journey! Unleash small goodie bags filled with new toys, stickers or activities at random intervals – let the excitement commence!

If you’ll allow it, let those kiddos unleash their inner artists and decorate the car windows with washable markers or stickers. Crayola Washable Markers are just the ticket!

A long car journey can be full of smiles if you plan it right!

Consider giving your children a travel journal where they can jot down their experiences, draw pictures, or keep notes about the journey. If you show them the route on a map, you can make it a quest where they can mark their progress.

And don't forget the cameras! Hand over a disposable or child-friendly digital one for them to capture their version of the journey – it's like directing their own road trip documentary.

Remember, flexibility and patience are the co-pilots on this adventure – after all, the unexpected can be the most memorable part of the journey! Keep the laughter flowing, the smiles beaming and the tears at bay!
